How to apply

  • All the applicants must submit an abstract to present their research during the poster sessions;
  • The registration period is from September 26th to October 6th. 

Selection of applicants

Attendance is limited to 50 places and application is required;

Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria.

  1. Complete Postdoctoral’s Degree;
  2. Incomplete Postdoctoral’s Degree;
  3. Complete Doctoral’s Degree;
  4. Incomplete Doctoral’s Degree;
  5. User of Mass Spectrometry Laboratory (LNBio);
  6. Number of published or accepted manuscripts;
  7. Complete/Incomplete Masters’ or Bachelor’s Degree
  8. Experience in the field.

  • All the selected applicants will receive an e-mail with the payment procedure;
  • The IX Proteomics Workshop registration fee is mandatory for all selected participants. Please, see the ratings below.

  • The registration will be from September 26th to October 6thThe registration will only be concluded after the fee payment according to your category.

    All selected participants will receive further payment instructions by e-mail. Payments will be received until October 27th.

    Cancellation and refunds
    Any changes and cancellations must be pre-notified in writing by email to eventos@cnpem.br. Registration fees will be refunded (50% of the amount paid) for cancellations made on or before November 5th, 2019. Cancellations made after this date are not refundable. Refunds will be made by credit card or bank transfer, depending on the original payment method.

Postdoctoral Researcher

The laboratories of Luca Fornelli and Ashlee Rowe, Departments of Biology and Chemistry, University of Oklahoma, seek a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct top-down proteomic analyses. This position offers the possibility of joining a multidiscipllinary team using a structural biology approach and state-of-the-art FTMS instrumentation (i.e., Tribrid Orbitrap mass spectrometer) to address cutting edge questions in neurobiology and cancer research. Responsibilities include all aspects of the proteomic project, ranging from experimental design to data collection and analysis.

The main objective of the research project (funded through an NIH Center grant to the Structural Biology group, Department of Chemistry) is to characterize proteins that inhibit ion channels regulating the mammalian pain pathway. In addition, collaborations with the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and the Stephenson Cancer Center will provide the postdoc with opportunities to work in the field of translational proteomics, broadening the research experience within a highly dynamic environment. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to develop new methodologies in top-down proteomics.

Job requirements:
• PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field.

Skills:
• Experience in proteomics and the use of liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry.
• Team player with good communication skills, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• The ability to assist with the training of undergrad/graduate students.
• Knowledge of Orbitrap FTMS technology and top-down proteomics.

Vaga de pós-doutorado com bolsa FAPESP

Uma vaga de pós-doutorado com bolsa da FAPESP está aberta junto ao Laboratório de Biologia estrutural e Zooquímica, do Instituto de Biociências de Rio Claro – UNESP, liderado pelo Prof. Dr. Mario Sergio Palma. O bolsista irá trabalhar no projeto de pesquisa “Proteopeptídeos naturais da fauna, flora e microbiota brasileira como potenciais modelos para o desenvolvimento racional de novos fármacos de uso terapêutico: isolamento, elucidação estrutural, síntese química, e ensaios de atividade funcional” (#2016/16212-5). Nesse projeto o bolsista participará de pesquisa com peptídeos defensivos de plantas (ciclotídeos e orbitídeos).  Os candidatos deverão ter formação preferencial em Química ou Farmácia, e ter se doutorado em química ou bioquímica, tendo trabalhado em temas correlatos ao tema do projeto mencionado acima; terão que apresentar comprovação de experiência prática nos temas relacionados ao projeto. Aos interessados é fundamental o pleno domínio de técnicas de: i) purificação de peptídeos por cromatografia de fase reversa; ii) domínio de técnicas de RMN 1-D e 2-D voltadas para determinação estrutural de peptídeos; iii) experiência em técnicas avançadas de LC-MS e MS/MS aplicadas ao sequenciamento de peptídeos, e na determinação de modificações pós-traducionais. Além disso, é desejável que os candidatos estejam familiarizados com técnicas de síntese de peptídeos em fase solida (das famílias de peptídeos mencionadas acima), e de ensaios biológicos miniaturizados em leitoras de ELISA.

Os candidatos devem ser excepcionalmente motivados, serem criativos, devem ser capazes de trabalhar de forma independente e com um ambiente em equipe. A oportunidade de pós-doutorado está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 7.373,10 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 15% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

2021 – BID TO HOST 20TH ANNUAL WORLD CONGRESS, HUMAN PROTEOME ORGANIZATION

HUPO STOP 2021 –  Translating the code of life into proteins and diseases from the scientific and patient point of view

The Brazilian Proteomics Society with the approval of its Council introduced a Bidding Book to the Executive Committee of the Human Proteome Organization proposing to host the 20th Annual World Congress. Under the title “HUPO STOP 2021 – Translating the code of life into proteins and diseases from the scientific and patient point of view” the meeting will focus on understanding the biology of diseases using the state of the art in proteomics technologies. Two dates and two venues were reserved, September 25 to 29 and October 2 to 6, 2021, at the Windsor Convention & Expo Center or Sul America Convention Center.
